Because the California Family Code now applies to all registered domestic
partnerships, a legal proceeding to terminate a domestic partnership is now
required. This proceeding is similar to that required for dissolving a marriage,
and the same issues as those in any marriage exist with domestic partnership
terminations.
The attorneys at Hargreaves & Taylor are experienced in the various issues
relating to Domestic Partnerships, whether or not the parties have registered.
When parties are not registered, a party may acquire legal rights or obligations
under civil contract law theories.
